Coruja-de-crista (Lophostrix cristata) encontrada desde o Sul da América do Norte até o norte do Brasil. Quando filhotes, têm a plumagem vasta e branca, que vai ficando marrom conforme se aproxima da vida adulta. Ela possui um "V" na face, que é eriçada quando o animal é perturbado. É um animal de hábitos noturnos, se alimenta de insetos e pequenos vertebrados e geralmente vivem em casal.
Crested owl (Lophostrix cristata) found from southern North America to northern Brazil. When young, they have fluffy white feathers, which gets brown when approaching adulthood. It has a "V" on the face, which is bristling when the animal is disturbed. It is a nocturnal animal, feeds on insects and small vertebrates and generally lives in couples.
