Aranha de chifres / Long-horned orb-weaver spider (Macracantha arcuata)

 "Aranha tecelã orbitela de chifres" (Macracantha arcuata), encontrada na Ásia. Possui duas projeções espinhosas, as quais o real propósito ainda é um mistério, apesar de se especular que sirva para afugentar predadores, se camuflar entre espinhos e/ou ajudar no equilíbrio quando pendurada na teia. ©

Long-horned orb-weaver spider (Macracantha arcuata), found in Asia. It has two long spiny projections, wich the real purpose of the remains a mystery, although it is speculate that serves to scare away predators, camouflage themselves among thorns and/or help in balance when it is hanging on the web. ©
