Cyclopes didactylus) encontrado nas Américas, desde o México até a Bolívia, e também no Brasil. É uma espécie dificilmente avistada, uma vez que vive em árvores e tem hábitos noturnos; se alimenta estritamente de insetos, comendo principalmente formigas e cupins. São pequenos como esquilos, se movem lentamente e são dóceis, embora saibam se defender com as garras afiadas, se necessário. Normalmente vivem na árvore Ceiba, que tem sementes cheias de fibras, o que facilita na camuflagem com sua pelagem branca.©
