O Projeto Andar de Novo desenvolvido pela Universidade Duke, vários institutos tecnológicos incluindo alguns brasileiros e liderado por um neurocientista brasileiro, Miguel Nicolelis, tem em visão restaurar os movimentos de pessoas com paralisias motoras; basicamente, a pessoa é capaz de mover pernas mecânicas apenas com o "pensamento" (através de impulsos nervosos - potencial de ação), algo inédito na ciência, e capaz de mudar a vida de milhões de pessoas com limitações motoras. Durante a abertura desta copa, o primeiro chute na bola foi dado por uma pessoa usando o exoesqueleto e marcou um passo importante no mundo científico. Infelizmente, algumas emissoras não deram a devida importância ao assunto e mal mostraram o acontecimento, mas aqui compartilhamos com vocês algumas imagens, para mostrar que o Brasil tem sim muito cultura, inclusive na área científica, e que o momento não deve passar despercebido.
Project Walk Again developed by Duke University, several technological institutes including some Brazilians and led by the Brazilian neuroscientist Miguel Nicolelis, has a vision to restore the movements of people with motor paralysis; basically, the person is able to move mechanical legs just with "it's mind" (through nerve impulses - the action potential), an accomplished new to science, and able to change the lives of millions of people with physical limitations. During the opening of this World Cup, the first kick the ball was given by a person wearing the exoskeleton of the project and marked an important step in the scientific world. Unfortunately, some stations did not gave importance to the subject and barely showed the event, but here we share with you some images to show that Brazil has so much culture, including in science, and that this moment should not go unnoticed.
