Renas que brilham? / Shining Reindeers?

Biologia-Vida

To save the lives of several animals, members of the Reindeer Herders Association in Finland, is spraying a reflective ink in the skin and the gall of wild reindeer. Since many roads cut through forests and reserves where this animal lives,  about 4000 reindeer end up being run over and cause accidents every year. The paint is reflective, ie, when the car headlight reaches the animal, by far it will be visible. The ink is non-toxic, and since reindeer are herbivores the paint will not affect their diet, the only consideration to be made is that the ink may end up attracting predators more easily, although many people still claim that the number of deaths by wolves would be smaller than the current number of roadkill.
