Filepita de Schlegel (Philepitta schlegeli), é uma ave endêmica de Madagascar, o que significa que ela só é encontrada ali; vivem em habitats tropicais e subtropicais, e, infelizmente, essa linda ave que parece ser mascarada está correndo risco de extinção, devido a perda de habitat e sua população muito pequena, a qual estima-se que vá diminuir drasticamente nos próximos 13 anos.

Schlegel's Asity (Philepitta schlegeli), endemic to Madagascar, which means that it is only found  there; it lives in tropical and subtropical habitats, and unfortunately this beautiful bird that appears to be masked is endangered due to habitat loss and its very small population, which is estimated to  drastically decrease over the next 13 years.
